On June 19th, this will be my new driveway! Also there’s a garage that is adequately sized! And maybe house nearby, whatever. Anyway, I think I’m back to shopping for a nice Chinook or Dolphin sometime, now that there’s room for one, or five

That’s a lot of room for old Toyota trucks

Congrats on the new driveway and garage! It was nice of them to throw in a house.

You’ll have to buy another Toyota just to get to the end of your driveway, damn it’s huge.

Much landscape! Congrats

Raise the roof, then install a lift. Nothing like getting underneath.

I love how green your part of the world is. I cut the grass the other day and killed it for the season.

Congrats, Dr. Zoidberg! Here’s hoping it doesn’t snow in the winter, and if it does, you have a snowblower.

That’s fucking spectacular!

What is this “shnerr” of which you speak?
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:06 |

So the next Oppo meet is in your driveway?
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:15 |

I couldn’t kill grass here short of scalping it.
People kill moss here. Moss. Can you imagine?
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:16 |

Congrats! Two days after you this should be my new driveway... needs some cleaning up and a couple chandeliers.

Hiring a gardener? That looks like a lot of yard.
That is one freaking sweet Rhododendron you have there, too.

Too slow space crab. I no longer have a dolphin to sell. Get a chinook or sunrader. Avoid ones with lapped siding panels.
Opp-o-cue time! You supply seats and heat. Oppos bring meat, what could go wrong? ( cut to spicy sriracha 10w40 glazed chicken)

I bet you could fit, what, eight cars on that driveway in a pinch?
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:25 |

Before you go accumulating look into hoa or municipal rules.
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:26 |

My moms yard is mostly moss with the occasional blade of grass. It looks great until summer when it dries out and turns black.
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:27 |

We used to have snow around here, global warming fixed that.
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:28 |

It’s actually smaller than my current yard

Squeeze 8, 2 rows of four, then maybe 3 more in front of those.
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:34 |

That is the perfect “road” hockey driveway.
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:36 |

No HOA, and I am intimately aware of municipality specifications for parked RVs.
![]() 05/26/2018 at 19:38 |

That one is nice! I would love a, uh, loopy-through-thingie driveway.
![]() 05/26/2018 at 20:12 |

Yeah dream house would have 3 car garage but I’ll settle for pull-thru loopy-thingie. BUT you definitely have more room to STACK ‘EM DEEP and SELL ‘EM CHEAP if you’re into that kinda thing.

You can rent out the RV as an apartment when not in use.

im gonna come and throw chandeliers everywhere so u can’t do anything without there being a chandelier in the way. then im gonna have a bunch of people piss in all of ur tubs.
![]() 05/26/2018 at 21:07 |

Nah, I think I’ll just keep what I have running, maybe get an RV or recreational rig someday.

No wait, two columns of four...
![]() 05/26/2018 at 21:09 |

Since we know no more than 5 people would show up, no problem
![]() 05/26/2018 at 21:47 |

Quite a setback, is this an infill lot or just long and narrow?
![]() 05/26/2018 at 21:53 |

Just long and narrow.

It’s surprising how small our meets are considering how big our cruises are.

I have been threatening to simply kill my grass by pushing the pH out of the range grass will grow in and just let the moss grow. I already have a pretty good layer of spaghnum growing under most of it (I refuse to kill it). It means like 4 weeks of ugly yard, but the rest of the year is maintenance free aside from a little water and blowing any leaves off it. Seems practical - no mowing, no aeration, and durable enough. Would save me a ton of money over paying my yard guy, too.
My flower beds are so acidic that grass doesn’t even grow in them. Just rhodies, azaleas, camellias, blueberries, evergreens, and a handful of shrubs that aren’t super happy. The only spot grass grows is this nasty stuff they planted under my ornamental cherry trees (which are in the only zone that isn’t very acidic).
![]() 05/27/2018 at 00:28 |

But it looks more lushly landscaped than your current yard, which already has some decent vegetation.

I wish my garage could fit one of these.

Which vehicles get the garage?
![]() 05/27/2018 at 16:36 |

Longbed and Sperkrass

I’ve been seeing a lot of turf installs lately. It actually looks quite good. I’ll be curious to see it after a few years of wear and tear
![]() 05/27/2018 at 18:50 |

I’ll bring all my vehicles to make up for it.
*remembers I only have a single vehicle now*
Aww
![]() 05/27/2018 at 18:51 |

Might be worth the cost to raise the garage height....
![]() 05/27/2018 at 19:19 |

I once had no driveway and 6 cars
I will soon own a long driveway and a 2 car garage, with but 3 cars.

The anxiety would kill me. Was this still in Everett? Did you get grief from neighbors/HOA’s?
![]() 05/27/2018 at 21:03 |

I got grief from one neighbor who claimed you couldn’t legally own more than 5 cars in Everett. He was not aware I know virtually all vehicle laws on Everett and I told him he was full of shit and all vehicles were registered, titled, and on my property. He did no speak to me again for six months. There is no HOA. I understand the appeal for other people, but unless I ever spring for a vacation condo, I’ll never live in any HOA.

I feel like if you could get a good solid layer of spaghnum and set up a network of low pressure watering tubes to evenly dampen the ground in addition to spraying it, you could easily keep it green year-round here (unlike much of the country), especially on the north sides of houses. The hardest part would be keeping it evenly moist and keeping people from doing stuff that will kill it (like fertilizer).

Raising the garage roof would be very hard with my house. The garage is tall, but a lot of the vertical space is unusable due to the garage door. It’s also only barely wide enough for two cars, so...
I know someone with one in his huge garage and I really want one like that, but he custom built his garage two stories and like 8 cars in size. The garage has a similar footprint to their entire house.

Awesome sauce! Congrats!
